A Mini Retreat. This day will begin at 10am and finish at 1pm.
This Practice will be a Yin & Yang Yoga Workshop for your heart and small intestine. In this session, we blend the gentle, introspective practice of yin yoga with the fluid movements of hatha flow Yoga, all centered around connecting to The energy of Summer inside our body and outside of our body.
Summer is just around the corner. To help navigate the season we can look towards traditional East Asian thought. According to Chinese medicine, each season is associated with specific elements, organs, and energies. Summer is associated with the Fire element, which corresponds to the Heart and Small Intestine organs. It is believed that during this season, the body’s energy, or Qi, is at its peak, and it is important to maintain a balance to prevent imbalances.This is the most Yang time of the year. The emotion associated with Summer is Joy and Happiness.
In this workshop we will work with practices to balance the heart and small intestine meridians,Through gentle poses and flowing sequences. We will work with the emotion of Joy and happiness by gentle backbending heart opening poses.
There will be An option of a few acupuncture needles at the end if you like that are associated with relaxation of the heart and mind!
This class will bring more balance between yin and yang, movement and stillness…
